I wonder where could I find a nice database of free sounds - to use in free games, ofcourse. I've searched the web but I couldn't find the fine sounds that I need. Some of my games are currently using sounds from Mortal Kombat, Worms, Windows, but I can't make them public like this...

Well, you can check some of the links listed in the SFX & Music Resources thread, but you'll have to go through the listed sites yourself looking for whatever particular sounds you're after, and you'll have to check any licencing restrictions those sounds may have as well.

You could also try getting someone to donate some SFX to you, although I'm not sure how well you'd fare with that.

ok, so if the sounds are regsitered as freeware then me and anyone else are allowed to use the sounds for commercial products?

I think flashkit has a pretty good collection.

I think 3dCafe.com has a free sound library. Look under free stuff.
