Hi, I wondering if any of you could suggest a good book that will teach me HTML. Why not use a program to make a site you ask.... Well I already have Dream Weaver 3 and thats great and I have a website but... I want to learn HTML....just another thing I can say I have taught myself... I like learning new things, so far I have learnt/learning MS Visual Basic, C++ (started a while ago) and OpenGL (just recently) then I want to learn HTML then Java...Then continually use these in the next 7-8 years... get a degree and land some wicked job making games Thanks Alan IF YA SMELL... WHAT THE BEZZ IS COOKIN''''
If I were you I wouldn''t bother buying a book. HTML is so simple you could learn it off of websites. One I would suggest for HTML (and many other web related things) is www.hotwired.com/webmonkey. And for reference for all of the tag attributes I use a program called The HTML Reference Library, it has all of the tags, and explains their attributes, as well as java-script and CSS info. I don''t know the URL for it but I''m sure a search for it would turn it up. I''m just trying to save ya 40 bucks that you don''t need to spend.

one thing that im good at programming is web design. i know html, java-script, and dhtml and im learning java. i would suggest going to funkychickens.com first of all. read through everything. Dont ever by a program that writes html for you. observe the sites you look at. view their source code. thats how i learned to make tables with curves and cool borders, etc.. another great site that teaches html and java-script, etc.. is echoecho.com good luck! web design is very fun i loved learning html
i am the best
I agree with what the others said, but I also like having a book available. My company bought me "HTML 4" for the world wide web, from Peachpit Press. It''s good. Nothing too advanced, but it explains the basics very well.

You might want to get a book on XML/XSL while your at it. It should eventually overtake HTML in popularity (and usefulness!)
