Hi, I'm looking for a royalty-free sound pack somewhere to download a bunch of spoken words for a game. Just wondering if anybody knows a good place to shop? http://www.shockwave-sound.com has a few choices and they seem pretty good, but I can't seem to find similar products to compare. Or, can somebody recommend a good company to do custom type work so the name of the game and such can actually be spoken? It seems that good voices can add a lot to a game.
I would look around on the street. Find a friend or co worker whos willing to do some voice recordings.

Other then that I doubt you're going to find everything you're looking for for free.

'Royalty-free' and 'free' do not mean the same thing. I am willing to pay.

I would never use a voice from a friend or co-worker in a game (unless they were a pro, but obviously I don't know any such people)...
[google] seems to know a bit about voice over services. [smile]
Google knows a lot about anything...

The reason I asked is because I saw this one package that had a whole lot of pre-recorded stuff and it was pretty good! I was wondering mostly if anybody had bought such a package and how it worked out, before I invest in custom work.
Could you use something like AV Voice Changer?

Hi!

We may be able to help. We often record pro and semi-pro voices in our production studio for various applications. It doesn't have to be at all expensive.

It may depend though on whether you actually want English voices in your game!

Get in touch with your requirements if you'd like to talk.

Cheers

Female voices are the hardest to find.

I also looked everywhere for them, but they are very rare.

I tried www.sounddogs.com, where they offer royalty free sounds at 2 bucks a pop on average. I bought a bunch from there for my game.
