Say, what animated GIF editor are you folks using to produce your GIFs? Is it a Win32 app, console app, or what?

I use Microsoft Gif Animator, they hand it out for free.

Maybe I came off a little too rash - I am not saying that anyone has "borrowed" from anyone for a fact. It was more of a gut feeling that something I can prove.

Its not that you were to rash or accusing anyone, its alright to have opinions and to express yourself, but i had felt i should explain my stance on the subject clearly.

Anyway, that desk pic is nice, have anymore lying around? :D

I've finally downloaded it. Some things I don't like about it are:

-the inability to import bitmap images
-the lack of basic image tranformations (like flipping, rotation, and scaling)

It gets the job done though.

You downloaded what??

Well whatever the program is that your using, It doesn't really matter a great deal,
Personally I tend to do all my pixel work in MSpaint and then import the frames into GG to save in the various file formats i.e. gif's, png's, jpeg's etc etc..

I don't like pixelling in GG cuz I'm not a fan of the tools setup.. I like MSpaint because its quick and easy to use..
He downloaded Microsoft Gif Animator (the program he said he was going to d/l in the post before that one). I use mspaint alot too, but it will do a number on some formats.

Edit: I just noticed that when I posted my reply that it also posted twice. I deleted the other one.

What do you think? I know the colours are too bright and there is a lack of contrast but apart from that?

Hey, I like this piece. I also like the color choice. I think that the colorss and the shading plus the iso view really give it a nice 2d feeling. Nice work. Some dithering in places could make it feel less smooth, but the lack of dithering also makes it look like and older 3d rendering would look i think. So I would like this either way. The only thing I would have changed is the black outline of the roof; a darker brown would, to me, make that feel more realistic. Let the contrast do the work for you, there is enough there to tell where the roof ends and the house begins. This is just my opinion though; you may not feel the same.

Again good work,
-Jake
I think it looks great, great use of shadows to. ;D

Usually when using MSGIF i use it in conjunction with MSPAINT. All i do is cut the images directly from MSPAINT and past them into MSGIF, so any flipping/rotation/scaling would have to be done in MSPAINT. ;)

Who told u that?

The colours are nice and it gives the house a good feel and alot of character.. I like your use of soft tones on this one but I would recommend maybe adding a highlight to the little shrubs/plant you've got there..

The contrast is fine and works well in the piece and overall its a job well done..

I'm concerned however as to where you got such bad crits from? or did you decide on those conclusions yourself?
Those were my conclusions. Glad to here that you guys think it's nice. :) Thanks a bunch.

jake2431: That dark brown outline on the roof sounds like a good idea. I'll have a look at it later.
