try simply 3.3 yet? it comes with synaptic

Going somewhat offtopic, but concerning flash drive (or even floppy), isn't there some option for mount that makes things write through directly, without being buffered? Wouldn't that be useful in that case?
Hmm, I tried out Mepis on an old hard drive a few weeks back. I found it was good, but didn't offer the flexibility I wanted. I'll stick with Slackware, I think, but it's good that you've found something that suits you. [smile]
