hey nice post... yeah what you'd do is to run the situation trough the model and see if it fits. If it doesn't fit its a surprise,and ... well, you act surprised. =)

I thought about it better, and with short term- long term memory separated, what you'd do is first look short term for matches, if none (above threshold) is found then look long term for matches, if none is found then add to short term and decrease dominance level =)
