from dos to win32
Hi,
can anyone tell me where to find easy to understand tutorials or something like that to learn how to use MSVC++ and DirectX SDK?
I''ve got some experience using djgpp/allegro but I want to learn to write win32 programs using directX and VC++. I''ve got Visual Studio 6 (Pro Edition) and the DirectX 7 SDK and also a book called "Learn Visual C++ Now" by Chuck Sphar but it seems to be of little or almost no help...
So if you know an inexpensive way (I don''t mind spending 50 bucks on a book if it''s a good one but I don''t have the money to provide myself a huge private library) to learn about that stuff please tell me.

"Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus" by Andre Lamothe. It''s all you need to get started
I'm reminded of the day my daughter came in, looked over my shoulder at some Perl 4 code, and said, "What is that, swearing?" - Larry Wall
LaMothe''s book is the best way to go, I''d say... but if you want to try some tutorials, I am writing a series of them about this very topic. There are seven right now, covering everything from writing your first Windows program up to bitmapped graphics with DirectDraw, and coming up with a logical way to implement a game program. They are at my website (link below) in the Resources section.
