Let the judging begin:

http://www.eng.uwaterloo.ca/~rramraj/Gamedev/winamp_contest/winamp.htm

If you find any errors, post or email me at thereisnocowlevel@hotmail.com. On monday, I'll post a new thread with the contest info so that everyone on the forum can help judge.

Cheers,
-llvllatrix
Seems like you didn't have to wait long ;)

A big 'Yay' for llvllatrix for getting the contest page up and running. I think its a really good idea to start another thread so others who aren't following this thread as much as us can know that judging is to begin.

Good luck all. May the best plugin win! [smile]

Can we vote for ourselves? :D hehe, just kidding.

After viewing all of the demos, I think I'd have to say that my favorite is "Snow Globe" by Michael Wallace, followed closely by "Merry X-Mas" by Marco Weber.

Glad you liked it [smile]. My two favourites so far are (in no particular order) "The Eternal Pool" by Shawn Silsbee and "Reindeers Flight" by James Ferry. They're all great so I'll have to have a bit more of a think till I make my vote.

Congratulations to all that entered.
Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!

I found the damn slow down bug!
NVidia cards just can't handle the point sampling in shadow maps!
I also did the shadow comparison while drawing the snow particles,
which is not very suitable for NVidia's drivers (or even cards?).

Anyway, I'm too late, but if anyone wants to download the "high-speed" version,
I've added a link (thanks Dredge-Master ;) ):

It now runs smooth even on my brothers GeForce3 TI 200 on highest detail-level!

Btw. love the snow globe, extreme good beat detection!

Hey... Where is my entry?
Didn't you get it llvllatrx? The dansing bombs!

Endre

Edit:

Just read my mail and there seem to be some mailsending problems...

Endre
I'm just curious as to how we are to do the voting.

are only the contestants allowed to vote? (maybe a score system, we give 2 for what we like the most and 1 for the second favourite).
We use the email accounts that we submitted the files in with (prevents vote rigging).

As for the dancing bombs, I downloaded it a few days ago, so I don't have anything against it still being submitted. It was finished before the deadline atleast, and he has a link up top somewhere.

Oh, and Matrix, do you still want us to clean up our code and resubmit our programs (for the ones who haven't bothered to add in the code already)?
Beer - the love catalystgood ol' homepage
I know of at least one other entry apart from esolem that isn't up on the contest page yet. He's a friend of mine who sent his in but it got flagged as containing a virus. As far as I know, he's resent the zip to llvllatrix so hopefully it should be up soon.

As for voting, if we start another thread then we should let non-competitors vote. I'm assuming that everyone on this forum looks down on vote rigging so there shouldn't be any cheating (or am I just being naive?). Maybe competitors votes should have more weight in the vote count?
Hello everyone. I'm the friend that Custard Slice mentioned.
