Hi all! I am trying to launch myself as a musician - I am interested in composing for games, films, animations, anything! I am cheap to hire whilst I try to get some initial tracks done! Please have a look at my website: http://www.roastpork.co.uk Also some of the tunes from the showcase here: http://www.roastpork.co.uk/music/mindstorm.mp3 (1.3Mb, 192khz mp3) http://www.roastpork.co.uk/music/inspire.mp3 (1.3Mb, 192khz mp3) http://www.roastpork.co.uk/music/turkishbosh.mp3 (1.8Mb, 192khz mp3) http://www.roastpork.co.uk/music/zoomy.mp3 (2.8Mb, 192khz mp3) E-mail: chris@roastpork.co.uk I use tools such as FL Studio and Sound Forge, along with a royalty-free sample bank of nearly 10,000 samples and instruments. Any compositions I do for you will be original, tailored specifically to your requirements / production, and completely yours to do with as you wish. Cheers! Chris

Thanks!

I have recently created a track for a remake of the classic Alien Breed game on the Amiga, you can listen to it in full here:

I tried to aim for a fairly retro sound on this one - back to the days of trackers :) but with some modern stuff thrown in.

I AM VERY CHEAP TO HIRE!

I have put up my composition prices on the website:

I hope to work for you soon! Get in touch

Chris
Sorry, I'll give you a tip. Dont price yourself as this gives people a bad impression about you unless someone asks but do advertise as much as possible.
Your music is really nice even just to listen at home and I am sure you will probably be successfull anyway and if you dont mention the price then you will find yourself earning alot more than you're asking for when working for a company. Cleaners work for more than £5 per hour so you will get definitely more. If not then you can always rise this issue once someone is interested and then they dont mind paying even £50 or more per minute. Delete those prices from your site seriously :)

Yes Mindstorm and Inspire are great!!!

Good luck.
Thank you for your kind comments!

So far I've had very little response, other than from other musicians! Looks like there's a very big hill to climb...

The prices are there because I want to prove that I am serious about providing a service to games developers. They are also very low because at the same time I don't want to scare away small development teams. Ideally I will work for a single developer or a very small team, and budgets are a massive constaint.

Until I can get some solid portfolio music done I'm in a tricky position. Perhaps I should do a project for free first?
For free? Nah! Good stuff may well cost a bit ;) That said, I'm interested! (And willing to pay, too)

Cool! Send me an email to chris@roastpork.co.uk

Look forward to hearing from you :)
If you don't mind my asking, what piano samples did you use for these? It sounds great! Sounds like you're a reverb junkie just like me. :)
Oh yes definitely a reverb junkie! I think I overdo it sometimes ;)

The piano samples are from various sources, and with a mixture of filters on them.

If you are looking for a nice versatile piano, I recommend trying Steinway Grand as it is fairly bright but not too much, and you can really dampen or liven up the sound to your needs.

And I've just won a contract to do 3 tracks for a game, so things are moving in the right direction :)
I'm interested. Just emailed you. :D
