Hey, I am (although new) interested in the art for games. But I need a basic program for designing the artwork. It can be simple, but it needs these things: can save in a variaty of formats, can zoom in to add details, has a blend type tool, and of course can be used to draw. Don't want to sound like an idiot but cheaper is better! Thanks Cyro393

You can always find a cheap, used copy of Paint Shop Pro on Ebay.

I perfer it to commerical "userfriendly" programs like photoshop, psp etc. It might take some getting used to but its worth it imo.
