Guyz and galz, It''s been years I''ve been learnin'' isometric view programming. It wasn''t any easy, but at least I got to learn most of the things ''bout ISO. Heard of nVidia''s GeForce 2 Ultra? Yes, that was five minutes ago when I get to know the performance of it (twice as fast as GeForce 2 GTS), and I was shocked. I''m still sleepin'', should have learnt 3D programmin'' instead of ISO view programmin''. Now I believe that the card is able to produce images that are as realistic as those 2D ones. Before this, my concern was on the graphic quality side. Now, with this GeForce 2 Ultra card, that''s not a problem anymore!! Right guyz? Do you think I should start packing my stuff and set off for 3D game programmin'' ?? I think I should. (Imagine how things will be, in two years time ......)
i all i havr to say is if you do decide to go the way of 3d, then visit NeHe''s site for openGL, you''ll be codeing in 3d after about an hour of reading his tutorials. Then you can ove on to directdraw/direct3d and already understand the 3d math and stuff.

anyway, thats my experiance

good luck

Don''t underestimate your effort... You might have spent a lot of time learning how to program in ISO, but in that you enriched your knowledge in general and "graphic specific" pragramming. In the future changing to 3D migt be inevitable (hardly any game programmer uses "2D", but we still have AEOII...), so it won''t hurt you to learn 3D programming (and then you can do semi-ISO stuff in 3D...).

For maths... try looking at flipcode.com, if I remember correctly, they had a short series which explained 3D geometry, but I never got around to seeing if it was anything useful...
