It is time to add background nose to my game and was wondering what is legal and what is not. Can I use a free-midi that I downloaded that copies a well know artist? (for example a mid of linkin park''s crawling) If I can do I have to give credit to the band or is midi a different story? Should I credit the aurthor of the midi(alot of times the author is unknown) Where should I get midi files that I can use. I am not musicaly inclined so making my own would take me longer then this game has taken me. thanks

A) Give you written permission to
B) You bought/were given a license to distribute the media.

Generally, if its on the internet, stay away from it. You have no clue where it came from, and the last thing you''ll need it for someone to sue you because you used a 10 second sound bit.
