Playing MIDI as resource or file

What are my options for playing a MIDI in Win32? I want to be able to play from a resource (thus include the file in the EXE), or at least from a file. So what are the options? From easiest to hardest to implement. I have heard you can play a MIDI in Win32 without using DirectX or Direct Music? I don''t want to have to parse the MIDI if there are easier options available. I''m asking since I''m making Super Vaz Brothers. That''s right, horizontal and vertical platform scroller in DirectDraw. Working on the design doc. Already got the original Super Mario Brothers MIDI music, just wondering how to play them in a game. VazGames.com I''ve played piano for 30 years, and guitar. Eventually I''ll compose my own music for my hideous Vaz Games. Hooray I''m multi-talented. Phil P
