Could you reckomend a good GNU 3D rendering Prog

I dont need it for games but to do some metallic images for a website.
I dont have the money to purchase one yet.
I need to make some buttons and banners with nice effects.

Yafray - http://www.coala.uniovi.es/~jandro/noname/. Its pretty good. But its only a renderer.
Two other open source modeling apps have plugins that export to yafray:

and why not a 2d tools?.
IMHO: to use 3d for a design in a webpage is simmilar to use a nuclear warhead to kill ants. Photoshop and psp have nice tools for drawing 3d buttons.
