Actually, they're used in completely different situations.

Imagine you're at a party trying to get a girl. When you're deciding who to talk to, you do the best first search.

The breast first search algorithm is usually used AFTER you've gotten the girl, otherwise you'd look like a total loser.

At least that's how my teacher explained it, hope it helps...
