buzzy_b,
remember, that you got an AWFULLY slow cpu, so the gfx card shouldn''t be the bottlekneck.... I would choose a voodoo2... they are nice and cheap..

bye

Buy the biggest card you can. After memory, the graphics card is the most important piece of gaming hardware for the latest games.

Note I say for the latest games. This assumes, of course, that you have a resonable CPU. A 200MMX is pretty low these days if you''re playing Quake... it''s fine if you''re playing Civ or another such game.

omegasyphon "well the rivatnt 1 and 2 are good and they do make them in pci slots i think the geforce only come in agp"

I saw a Geforce PCI some weeks ago.
I think that would have been the best solution for you, buzzy,
cause it also does T&L and you don''t seem to have the fastest CPU ;-)

sorry i saw this thread too late..

Visit Rarebyte!
Visit Rarebyte! and no!, there are NO kangaroos in Austria (I got this question a few times over in the states ;) )
I have a Voodoo2 in it already, and I wanted a good 2d/3d card. I already bought what I wanted (RIVA TNT). Buster: Quake 1 and 2 run fine on it, so don''t go telling me I should stay with Civ or something (Q3A is a little slow though). I don''t have any more money so I can''t buy anything else, but I think I''m going to be satisfied with the TNT. Again, thanks for the suggestions.

I''d get an NVidia card. They have a full OpenGL ICD that is actually decent, unlike some other cards....

I just bought a stripped down IBM Pentium 200MMX ($150 CND) and I was wondering which 3D card I should put in it. The way I see it, I can''t get an AGP card (no AGP), so I was thinking a Voodoo3 or 4. Also, I don''t have a lot of money. What do y''all think?
