Which 3D card should I get
I just bought a stripped down IBM Pentium 200MMX ($150 CND) and I was wondering which 3D card I should put in it. The way I see it, I can''t get an AGP card (no AGP), so I was thinking a Voodoo3 or 4. Also, I don''t have a lot of money. What do y''all think?

Well Now,
Rage''s are a nice varied card in
both price and performance. Voodoo''s
are definetly popular and a marvelous cards.
However if you look hard ennough I''m
sure you''ll find an adequate card cheaper.
If you''re thinking of dishing out for a
VooDoo 3 Then maybe a bit more for a
GeForce. They are certainly cheaper than
a VooDoo4 and for a tad over what you have
it might be worth it.
Oh and one more thing don''t get ripped off
by famous retail stores.

well the rivatnt 1 and 2 are good and they do make them in pci slots i think the geforce only come in agp
I''m getting a Matrox MAX g400 this week end. Duel monitors for development, then you''ll see duel monitors in my game too I''m already starting to have some good idea''s about multimonitor. Apart from that I was ''going'' to get a geforce sdr.
Since you mentioned no AGP I''d say a voodoo3 is probably the most advanced PCI card around, not sure how it rates against the matrox g400?200 pci though.
Really unless your waiting on parents to cough up cash I''d save up rather than throwing money at an already outdated PC.

I had a voodoo2 and they are VERY cheap, quick, and use bi-linear filtering, but they dont render in a window, if that bothers you then u should consider a Voodoo Banshee.
I have a Geforce 256 v6600, and its the best card ive seen/used, but its only AGP. Maybe u can swap the Mainboard and CPU for a cheap P2/266 + MainBoard somewhere so u can use AGP?

I got a PCI tnt1, it''s not so bad. There aren''t any games I can''t play.
There''s not a single game I haven''t been able to play at a decent speed with my Viper 770 Ultra which uses the TNT2 Ultra chipset. (I have a P II 333). Definitely a great card. The G400 is also a great card, especially for developing and art. It provides the best 2D quality I''ve seen. The GeForce and GeForce 2 are even better but they''re more expensive.
I''d say get a Voodoo3 2000 PCI. They''re cheap at the moment and they''re fast too. Only problem is they don''t do 32 bit. If that''s a problem, then get a TNT (PCI version of course).
But if you do happen to "stumble" on a heap of cash, get a new computer
