OK, don''t

The MS synth can work with DLS banks, your SB can''t. Change it back in the midi menu and see if the error message stops appearing.

ok. tommorow I''ll tell what''s the result.
but why the SB synht can''t? I can''t believe ...
btw can I make DLS banks with the DMP - with DLS Designer?

You can make DLS banks in DMP.

DMP can access any midi device on your machine, but to use DLS banks you need to stick with the MS synth.
) everything is OK (for the moment ...) tell me about the multiple layers in the DLS Designer and the definitions of the articulations (something specific I should know)
and - what''s DLS1 and DLS2 synth?

Ack! Read the manual for this info:

"DLS Level 1 and Level 2" has info on the new capabilities of DLS 2 banks.

"Articulation Settings" has info on articulations.

"Regions and Layers" and "To add a layer to an instrument" should get you on the right track. The idea is to link a particular velocity range to a region so that depending on how hard the key is hit a certain sample plays (see "Region Settings").

Have you done the Farm Game tutorial yet?

I know, but I can't understand the articles good enough ... and the Farm Game ... no but I will.
what kind of script use DMP? and what if I don't know it - is it nonsense to use this software?

DMP uses a cut-down version of VB Script called Audio VB Script.

This article is an excellent introduction:

Do you have any experience with timidity++? I just learned of it''s existence and apparently it has been compiled on both mac and windows and supports soundfonts without requiring a soundfont-compatable card.

I''m looking deeper into it now...

Alternatively... any experience with fluidsynth?
