I have tried the plugin available at effectware.com and polytrans to output my 3ds max models to directx file format. both of them suck up in one way or the other. i guess i have wasted my precious bucks on buying PolyTrans cuz it SUX. Polytrans does not export Hierarchical Link Data while the plugin at Effectware.com gives it a pitch of 90degs and exports it. is there any other better plugin available?? Why not just use conv3ds.exe that comes with the SDK?

the Conv3ds utility is so bad, I didnt even mention it.

do u guys use .X Files at all, or is there any other format.
