Combustion VS After FX
If you are just getting started, I''d got with After Effects. Since after effects is by Adobe, its very commonly used with smaller companies. Combustion is good, I''m not too familiar with it. I use After Effects.
The thing is though, if you want something really good for post production, you''ll want to go with Flame or Inferno - but those are super expensive machines - but its hardware accellerated!!
Don''t bother trying to download Inferno or Fire illegally though. Its not just a software, its a machine (I think an SGI one, not sure)
I personally have some issues with After Effects interface - but its nothing terrible. Plus, if your familiar with other adobe software, you''ll find it to be very simple to use.
