please test rally car
I''m making a rally game engine and just finished the car physic part... now I need someone nice enought to try it and give some feedback to me.... I just want to know your opinion about the physic feeling(handling etc). Besides you can test drive a very nice looking Peugeot 206 Rally car

thanks

the controls are :
up/down = speed up/down
left/right = turn
c = toggle to wireframe mode
thanks

I like it alot... Except that the car is too hard to control and when you hit the side you go flying... I might be able to control it a bit better if there was a first person view, but the amount it jumps when you hit an edge is amazing...
The car becomes totaly uncontrollable at high speeds - spent about 2 minutes watching it bounce all over the place.. prehaps it would help to make movement time dependent and not frame dependent...
also rigth before the track ends the road is so steep that you can only clib it at full speed - wich as I mentioned means the car becomes close to impossible to steer.
Also near the top there is a
graphical error.
On a final note - you properly aren''t gonna use that "car" for more than development but still - I can''t tell wich is the front and wich is the back of it. kind of a problem when you have preformed one of those amazing crashes..
Other that that it look promising

I had problem to reach more than 30km/h when I noticed that after a collision with the side the car''s speed increased a lot !
So I guess there''s an error in your collision response since it seems to add some kind of energy to the car.
Also the car''s tires are a little much soapy ...
Besides this it was quite funny to drive the car

i dont know if it is just me but the game ran @ 2fps on my comp and im running a 1.67 Ghz computer.
under 2 mb? don''t upload on geocities, we hate it. why? because now i can''t access your file..
well then, how about going on my page, http://davepermen.net, and there click on free, and upload it there, and link that version in? no "File Not Available" from geocities, no problems..
wanna test it, ya know. i love funky car physics simulations..:D

If that's not the help you're after then you're going to have to explain the problem better than what you have. - joanusdmentia

Got a good frame rate of over 240 fps on my Ati Radeon 8500. I found the control of the vehicle not to bad up to about 80 km/h but after that the steering is just to sensitive. I was able to jump the sides but you end up in never world just floating around. After a few tries I was able to get up to 200 km/h through the course. Then I discovered that I could get up to 200 with the car upside down and not moving by holding the up arrow key down. Its a good start and it shouldn''t be to hard to fix the little quirks.
Thanks everyone... I think the car need more friction and less bounceness. I use time dependent mevement but clamp it because too much time variation will make the physic unstable.
The track is randomly generated so it might be different in other computer.
to Davepermen - I''ve uploaded it into your page.
I set the steering to suit me..I guess I need to make an option to let other people adjust the steering sensitivity.
The speed is from the front wheel velocity. that''s why it still showing 200km/h when the car went upside dowm.
I''ll make the changes and put it back here.

Wait a minute... So its a frontwheel drive car?? Then the physics are allll wrong... And most rally cars are rearwheel I believe... With a frontwheel one you don''t slide as much, the back slides and then the front wheels cause the car to straighten out much more.
And your car feels more like a hovercraft than a car.
(sorry if this what i said sounded offensive, I''ve had a bad day so i''m not in the best of moods)
