Come on, nobody else was a fan of Adventure on the Atari?
Probably the game I enjoyed most as a kid was Bionic Commando. Nowadays it''s pretty common to see people''s heads explode, but back in the nes days it was something to cherish.
Battle City (Tank game in NES)
Willow (RPG in NES)
High Seas Trader
Simon the Sorcerer
BomberMan (The one in NES)
Ninja Turtles (NES & SNES)
Final Fight
Double Dragon 1, 2, 3 (NES & Arcade)
Raiden (Arcade)
IKARI

Zaxxon (on cassette tape!)

Wizardry I: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord
Lode Runner
Castle Wolfenstein
Captain Goodnight
Of course many others on my 386, NES, SNES etc, but those are the oldest.
ahhh, the good ol'' days.

The Incredible Machine by Sierra. Great game. Even let you do gravity/viscosity settings in freeform mode.
On the TI99/4A, Protector, definately. You get a little jet and an alien ship is picking people off of buildings and dropping them in a volcano... Chisolm Trail was also cool, but I never quite figured out what hiding behind blocks shooting aliens had to do with western US history.
There was also a game I can''t remember the name of right now, Star-something or other I''m sure, you had a spindrive and went to planets trying to find enough mining and water planets to support the humans that were seeking refuge in the cluster, all sorts of aliens with different personalities and varying tendencies toward telling the truth. You could soup up your engine room, and have space battles, trade with aliens, and the aliens'' attitude toward you would change depending on your actions (e.g. if you attacked them in space, they were really ticked off the next time you visited one of their planets)

I'm reminded of the day my daughter came in, looked over my shoulder at some Perl 4 code, and said, "What is that, swearing?" - Larry Wall
