Since I'm annoyed I haven't been able to use my Mac software this month I'm putting in serious consideration to getting an iMac in January. It seems a bit counter-intuitive to buy more Mac hardware when it's the failure of my MacBook Pro that's causing all the grief, but I'm not holding any ill-will to the techs I'm dealing with - they all seem to be doing their best, I think I've just been unlucky with this particular machine. Plus I've been meaning to get a new desktop in 2008 anyway, so it's not that much of a change to get it early in the year instead of late.
I've made a thread over in the Hardware Forum to canvas opinions and gain the wisdom of the forum. I'm not sure what's the best option for me, although from my inspection of the catalog I'm thinking the iMac is probably the best bet.
