Direct Sound Input
Although not technically a ''game'' subject I am attempting to expand my knowledge of DirectX into sound (something which I''m not very familiar with yet and thought this would be a good project).
I''m trying to analyze a guitar input so I can determine the frequency of the input signal. I have absolutely no idea where to start but believe I should set up an input buffer and start sampling from a line in or mic socket. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I''m not looking for a code sample or anything that specific but perhaps some suggestions as to the DirectX functions I should be concentrating on.
