does borland c++ builder enterprise...........
Hello I have borland c++ enterprise and i want to know if it is any good for game programming because i thought it was inly for making web sites and that type of stuff.
we shall not live our lives in fear
We use c++ builder pretty much exclusivly at my uni. It will work just fine for game development (although you will need to search around the net for intructions to get it hooked up with directx). If you want to build regular applications its Rapid Applicaiton Development (RAD) allows you to build your GUI in a "powerpoint-esque" click and drop fashion (far ahead of vc++ 6.0) I (personally) think the debugger is a bit better in builder as well.
mang?
I don''t know who told you it''s only for websites and stuff. It is a C++ development tool, so it can be used for all kinds of software. I use it and I think it''s the best choice. It''s easier to use than Visual C++. To hook it up with DirectX, you have to convert the .lib files from the DirectX SDK with coff2omf.exe. This file is in the CBuilder\Bin directory.

Wow, you must have alot of money collecting dust to buy a $2999 ($1899 upgrade) compiler without checking out what it can do first.

Or he warez''ed it...
That was what I was politely implying, especially since his previous posts show that up until recently he''s done no programming at all (games or otherwise), which would count out any chance of him having enterprise through his office (since without any knowledge of programming its unlikely he''d be working for a software development house for more than 6 minutes).

You were not politely impling at all. You can work for a software devlopment house for more than 6 minutes , even if you learned another language dan you did. Or you can be a tester, a secretary, a cleaner , work on the phone, director, or even ceo.
If you work close with people developing something, you could get interested in it. Yes, He could be using warez. But do you know for sure ? ….. thought so.
OR, we got a license though school. I myself have requested a Borland C++ Builder version at school and if I''m correct their giving me the Enterprise edition. Well, that''s what the teacher told me....
