You can download DirectX 8 libs and headers for Mingw32 (that''s the compiler Dev-C++ uses by default) at www.gamecoding.co.uk.
I already know that Microsoft SITE but its over 100 MB. Can''t I find just libraries and headers or in other words, short file sizes.

The Microsoft site has componentized downloads. You should look before leaping.

People should look thoroughly before asking questions. Go to random links if you have to, then if you can''t find it, then ask here.
Hey guys,
Back off a little, he''s new.
Besides, even the componentized download of DX8 C++ SDK is 128 MB, while simply the libraries/headers needed zipped are only about 3 MB.
However, I can''t tell you where to find that zip, sorry.

Right. Then he gets the headers and libs but no documentation, no samples and proceeds to inundate us with obvious questions. And you advocate this download for someone who is new?
Shame on you.
