Hi, all, This is just a note for the "where do I start?" posts I''ve seen. A good place to look for books on programming languages (general and Visual C++/VB/Etc)) is http://www.informit.com under the "free library" section. They have a LOT of free Que and Sams books online. It''s a great place for quick reference and test-driving the books (though the whole books are online, if you''re like me, you like to have hardcopy). And, no, I don''t work for or have any affiliation with the site... I just started going there when it was pbs.mcp.com, liked it alot, and recommend it to anyone needing to know about technical subjects. Anyway, enjoy. -Chris ---<<>>--- Chris Rouillard Software Engineer crouilla@hotmail.com

More free books are available at

ITKnowledge

They even have The OpenGL Super Bible

Great Site! Quick note to all (this kind of freaked me out at first for about a minute), go to the "Free Archive" section... the site has some other books, but they are on a subscription basis (at 19.95 a month for the subscription, I''d rather buy the books I want).

The free archive seems to have a great deal of books, including a few older ones on game programming.

Thanks,
Chris

Great sites - thanks.
I just want to point out that the "Resources" page has always had links to these and several other sites with free books.
