LithUnwrap: Seperating overlapping geometry

I''m using LithUnwrap to help me skin mechanical models that have lots of overlapping geometry and repeating parts. I''d like to grab the repeating faces, stack them on top of each other, and use one texture (this is called "mirroring" I think). Anyways, I''m having problems using Box Mapping where faces overlap. For instance, I have a starship whose outboard engines are almost exactly the same size as the main body. Of course, when I try to select one or the other, I usually end up taking off the wrong faces. Selecting by vector, rather than face, is much slower and even more error prone. Any advice? It''s too bad I can''t set 3D depth selection limits, like "don''t select faces beyond point Z." -------------------- Just waiting for the mothership...

I use milkshape to group faces into useful groups then planar, decal or box etc map each group seperately....then unhide all the groups and lay them out!
