If you have debian installed, you can use the following commands:

apt-get install abiword
apt-get install gnumeric

abiword can open from/save to Word files and many other document formats.
Gnumeric should be able to read XLS files.

If you don''t have debian, you will still be able to find some RPM''s or something on the internet.

I have used KOffice, the official version from www.koffice.org, and the SuSE Linux 7.3 version, and it supports MSWord and Excel documments... but i don''t know if it can use access & powerpoint docs... i haven''t tried it...
