I don''t really care either way, but it seems to me that adding an age is superfluous. I don''t really care how old they are. If I can help them, or they can help me, I''m happy. If you know your stuff at 10 or 50, its all the same to me. But I can see how it looks like some are bragging by saying "I''m 10 and can program C++ great".
And I also agree that knowing the language is easy. Software design is hard, and only comes with experience. Anyone who says (not necessarily here, but in general) "I know all I need to be a programmer" is the biggest newbie and doesn''t realize it. We are all constantly improving our design skills.
And I don''t think that kids can''t understand complex problems. They don''t teach Calculus because you need to know all the lower math 1st. Kids can be very smart and clever, but obviously they can''t solve a calc problem without knowing Algebra. Its a hierarchy. Buts kids do learn faster, which is why it takes them very little time to learn to play a musical instrument, but it would take me probably years before I could even sound horrible.

Tired of: "I'm a kid and I Program!"
I''m closing this. It''s a silly subject to argue about. People are free to post whatever they want to. Stupid posts will get ignored, helpful posts will get respect, and pointless or offensive posts will be taken care of by the moderators.
You know, I think in some of the posts presented by young people, we miss something. This happened to me when I was younger. I would tell my parents, what my version of the future was and they being blue collar workers would attempt to give their love through a healthy dose of reality. I once said I was going to rather quickly get to the 50,000 per year mark in salary. I said I was going to do it programming because this field is amazing and wow look what could be done with a computer(deer in headlights look from them). I got the 20 year-you-need-to-earn-that-kind-of-money speech from my parents. In a way younger people need to tell the world what they can and can''t do because as a general rule of thumb adults don''t take their talents seriously. It wasn''t until I began to make more than my parents combined that they really began to see that what I was talking about was possible and their response was really negative. As a result of my experience, I can see why a younger person would want to post. Everyone needs to be recognized by their peers for their efforts, its some basic psychological thing, and this forum is probably one of the only places they can get it. Who else would understand a 10 year olds desire to program video games. At that I applaud anyone who wants to tell people about accomplishments. Learning to program is an accomplishment, lets not trivialize it. If it were so easy there wouldn''t be 400,000 jobs going unfilled and the salaries wouldn''t be as high as they are. I say lets celebrate the youth we have on this board. One day you will read about a few of them in gaming magazines as they deliver the next best thing to the world. Who knows maybe I will even work for one them someday.
