after i do a compile and i look at the debug part at the bottom i get this Loaded "c:\windows\system32\kernal32.dll", no matching symbolic information found. along with some others. i am useing vc++6 with XP http://www.lectersoft.com

You don''t have the kernel debug libraries installed. This is perfectly normal, and does not affect debugging in any way (unless you are debugging the kernel ... ).
