So I saw this the other day, and was like WTF!

I mean it's a nice thought and all, but who would actually pay for such things? would you?

Exclusive perks and channels?

It all just sounds like more work for us the devs to manage and setup, not to mention set up higher expectations..

Community by it's very nature is meant to be open and what not. Adding community pay walls, seems arbitrary and superfluous.

The Elvenar game by Inno Games recently completely moved to Discord, apparently following more recent titles like Rise of Cultures.

They abandoned their own forums, and publish all news at Discord now. You cannot read anything without making an account at Discord. As such, “open and what not” has varying degrees of openness 🙂

I don't know what they have there, but they seem big enough to pay Discord for keeping their stuff managed.

I feel strongly that discord is killing the few forums still around….

I don't like Discord for a variety of reasons… as yall may have gathered…
