Hey everyone,
So first, I have been working in Unity and Unreal for about 5 years now. I understand them well as well as programming behind it. I am trying to focus my effort on a highlightable skill now and was looking for some advice. When It comes to level design I feel like a majority of the job is done in the engine editor, is this accurate? Is the primary role of a level designer these days to take art assets and code snippets, putting it all together in the engine? I was hoping to find a bit more clarity on what exact skills are needed to be a “Level Designer”. I have proficient programming knowledge and artistic ability to use with my engine knowledge. What is my next step in becoming a Level Designer?
Thanks everyone!
Best,
Blue
