An Idea but No Experience

So, I've always been the type to want to do big things with my life. I recently got some inspiration to create an app, thus beginning a production company for a few different mediums; Emerald Gates Productions. It's an amazing idea and I'm definitely prepped to put in the work. The only problem is; I have no clue where to start. I'm not a programmer and I can't draw for anything, so the coding and visuals of this app are out of my hands. I'm also completely broke, unfortunately as a senior in high school without a job, who's going to college soon enough. The only things I've got are the ideas and the writing skills, which are pretty vital to this app as well.

See, here's my idea. It's going to be an interactive novel app for mobile similar to one like Choices or Episode (though I'm aiming to add in some never before-seen stuff in it, as in stuff i have yet to come across in these kinds of apps). Not only do I plan to add in some story line elements to overall app (not just in the stories themselves), but I'd also like to work out a new system for the in-game currency that's cheaper and brings people back for more, as well as a VIP status for monthly purchase that gets you access to incredibly exclusive content other than stories regular users won't get.

I'd like to know what you think about the concept, as well as what I should do about my lack of programming and art experience. Where should I start with this?

Ideas are a dime a dozen... so unless you have a proof of concept then I'm not sure what feedback can be given considering the details you've provided. The real core value is going to be more in how you write the story and create that interactive experience, as well as the audio and visuals that tie into it. Beyond that, just go for it!

You either need to acquire those skills, or find someone that has those skills. If you're devoted to being a writer then I would suggest being the best writer you can be and look towards finding tools that help create your games in the most easiest way possible, and take advantage of any opportunity to work with people looking to build their portfolio with rev share until you can hire talent or you're able to take on the tasks solo.

Keep in mind that your biggest challenge is going to be maintaining a team to work on 'your' game idea... You'll have to find out how to get people on your team to feel invested in the idea and project mutually. Unless you're paying someone to do (x) task, it's hard to keep people motivated long term unless there is some mutual ownership in the game, and you're all aiming to achieve the same end goal.
