Hey everyone,
I've written a small 10 second transcription of one of my favorite songs from ear. I am working towards eventually writing my own big pieces of work but need some opinions on my current music. Could I get some opinions please?? :)
Hey everyone,

Hi there :)
I listened your transcription. What kind of feedback are you looking for? It's hard to come up with anything as you said it isn't your song and it's such a short clip. And I don't know if you played it in or wrote it straight to MIDI. Or do you want opinions about the sounds or what?
Please ask something a little bit more specific :)
Well, yes it sounds nice, but to answer your questions more thoroughly I need to know your target.
So how it's supposed to be sounding when finished? Like a piano concerto or a retro style MIDI mock-up in a game or something in between. Now it sounds like MIDI. If you're looking for more realistic approach try some VST-instrument pianos and tweak the sound as you like. (I like Pianissimo)
If you're looking for feedback only about the piece of music, it's hard to say anything deep from such a short clip. It sounds nice MIDI piano music is all I can say :D
There is a link to a longer version of it I've made over the last day or two. And the end goal for this is for it to be turned into sheet music so others can learn to play this song. I'm glad you at least think it sounds nice. Perhaps I should try a VST piano of some sort, I do not have a lot of experience with stuff like that, but I'll give it a go.
Now is an excellent time to start learning VST instuments ;) I like Pianissimo and I also have the Sonivox 88ensemble for some drier piano stuff. But anything is fine to start with.
WIth the longer version it's more noticeable that the general MIDI sound is a bit monotonous. With some VST piano and velocity tweaking it should be more enjoyable to listen to :)
