After 7 years (or something), I started back hobby programming. I'm writing a dba tools that generate text into clipboard so that right clicking on a putty window will paste it. This is because in 90% of cases, i can only communicate with the db via putty. I'm using PureBasic.

@Ryan; here's the planning on Pacman 3D, unfortunately were just at +1 week at the moment.

But I promise I'll finished it and put it online when I reach beta.

I'll try to keep track of members giving me (positive) feedback, so I can send out an update in the near future.

My fanbase seems to be at 3 at the moment smile.png

That's usually what I do on my days off from work. Unless I'm programming, then I'll likely just sit around and either think to myself or just watch old episodes of Star Trek or MacGyver on Netflix. Good shows!

Well, my form of work is taking care of my wife and son. I spend the day watching my son play PS3 games or watch Netflix. Once in a blue moon he will tell me to unlock one of my games (or rather sign for me to unlock one of them). Off and on I do a gamergate opinion blog (basically me voicing my opinion to a wall), then from time to time I may code something, but nothing major.

A flood destroyed everything I owned and then 3 months later I got fired from my job, which I hated anyway. I spent 6 months unemployed, burnt through all of my savings, maxed out all of my credit, and had literally nothing to my name. I started freelance consulting and now, 3 years later, I have two part time employees, no debt, some savings, a condo and a new car, three international trips this year alone (pleasure, not business), and I'm married to the most amazing woman in the world (and I've been around the world a few times now, so I think that's pretty safe to say).

I'm using said part-time employees to take over my consulting work (and still take a cut off the top) while I focus on building web-enabled virtual reality software.

I'm also a long-time member here who has been a way for a long while. I'm still working on the game in my signature, which I started all the way back in 2004 (amazingly). I've taken several long breaks from working on it for the past five years, but always spend at least a couple months a year where I contribute to it. When I'm not working on it, I'm not active in this community or any other related to game development for that matter.

I'm sticking around this time though. At least until we get our next release out.

Started a second one but it got canceled around chapter 6. So I have time to play the 75 humble bundle games that ended up in my Steam account this year.

Got my book published:

I almost bought it once for my Kindle, but $41 is too much for me. I'll keep an eye on it for when it goes down.

That was pretty rude.

No, it is called being honest to the writer when you are on a tight income. It also shows I'm interested in the book, but don't have the means to buy it until the price lowers to be in my means to afford it. If anyone takes it as rude, then they need thicker skin.

That doesn't bother me. I didn't have any say in the price. But it is a 635 tome, and those things are not cheap to print. Back when I was going to self publish I imagined it would be a lot less.
