The reactor may be smaller than a traditional nuke, however they operate the same way - heat from the reaction is used to boil water, which is used to drive a steam turbine ...

... Yeah, but they start the reaction and keep it going with lasers.

Really big, dangerous, cool lasers.

And they're vibrant blue or something. blink.png

I mean, here's the wikipedia pictures, and it looks way cooler than a nuclear reactor silo.

Compare: Nuclear reactor:

Sandia National Lab's fusion reactor:

National Ignition Facility's fusion reactor:

Even a homemade fusion reactor by some amateur researchers:

Fusion reactors. Lasers. Flashing blue lights and stuff. I don't care how it works, it looks cool.

Be fair Frob, don't look at the outside of the traditional nuclear reactor, look at the pretty cherenkov blue.

If you ever get the chance, REACTOR POOLS look very cool IRL, and are not very radioactive [*1] .

For some reasons I would be much more inclined to believe this if coming from another company. Perhaps I don't know Lockheed all that well.

This. If it glows blueish, it must be the future! Lazzors FTW!

At least that is what decades of cheap Sci-Fi moves taught me.... and Hollywood would not lie to me, would it?
