Here's my "end of day 1" post: (mostly wrestling with models)

PS: is it possible to get my blog added to the list of participants/blogs in the other thread?

Starting to get my idea ready, aiming for a tower-defense where the player can match blocks to "build" toys, that come alive and act as defenders with various properties. Still working on the details, just been doing some Blender-work today to get something to start with, hopefully some coding tomorrow. :)

Hey what's up guys.. I'm just quickly coming around to drop my developer journal. I'll be posting my stuff on this place:

Captain,

I really like the graphic. I cannot wait to see more of the artwork.

Thanks! We really put some thought into everything this first day and hope to come up soon with additional stuff to show to you guys as we all are curious about what the others do! :) Today is the actual Character and Level Design phase for us. So in the end of the day there sure will be some sketches and colorations to see.

It's more of less the end of day 1 for me, so here's a screenshot of my progress so far...

I had a feeling someone might use Kenny's art, it is a great style for this theme.

Yeh he's done some great work with those.

I haven't really decided on a look-and-feel for the game yet, so whether I'm still using them by the end remains to be seen. The major benefit to using them now is that I can just throw them in and get something working.

I made a little blog update today. I was able to work on my game only a litle 2h30 because of my job but my general idea is define. It will be a little platformer game.

I also read all of your post and that's look promising.

Made collision working and now have little tin soldiers walking and falling around and vanishing in exits.

First approach for collision was mathematical, but that didn't match with pixel movement at diagonals. So I put a hackish version in there instead and it worked smile.png

Looking great so far!

The middle portal exit is curious because it seems to span across a tile boundary - is everything freely positioned really and the perception of a tile grid merely an illusion or are the portals simply not bound by a grid structure?

Saw a lot of teddies so I present mine:
