I really love listening to Tubular Bells while I program.

A lot of demoscene music helps me. Lack of lyrics help.

Not always, but some days the TRON: Legacy soundtrack by Daft Punk or the Social Network soundtrack by Trent Reznor are both incredible.

I was listening to the FF7 soundtrack the other day while coding, it started out inspirational and workflow was good........then I bought the PC version of the game and played that all day. So not the most productive....biggrin.png

... I see it recommended time and time again to listen only to music that is instrumental ...
Yes I know some studies have shown that you read/study slower while listening to music (no source sorry). Not sure if that directly applies to programming though, since listening to music with vocal while reading creates a conflict between what you read and what you hear. But for programming, it's two somewhat different semantics, so it might not affect in a detectable degree.

I mainly listen to metal while coding - not heavy though. In the morning black metal is great for getting me started, if coffee isn't enough :)

I also find Trent Reznor's soundtrack for "The Social Network" can be pretty good. Some of it is upbeat, other tracks are a bit darker or more subdued, making for nice variation.

The one I like most is "Intriguing Possibilities". What a fitting title.

Silence

Silence

This is pretty much my case, but for me very well works "di lounge" . I think it is a very good choice for silencers

I found out about this online radio thingy Digitally Imported just recently. I listen to their hardstyle, drum & bass and trance channels. The site somehow destroys Chrome and I get 30% usage on all cores by just looking at it. So I usually select a channel and leave another tab open so it doesn't sinks my CPU.

"I AM ZE EMPRAH OPENGL 3.3 THE CORE, I DEMAND FROM THEE ZE SHADERZ AND MATRIXEZ"

I just have an MP3 player (like $20 for a decent one) and have bought and uploaded my favorite music to it that way I use no additional power to listen to my music while coding, which is important when you are programming on an eight year old laptop that overheats just watching youtube videos.
