What software can do a curve auto-smoothing when I am in free-hand mode?

Forgot to mention this.

I'd want to have catmull-rom type of splines, instead of bezier.

I think inkscape cannot do this?

I just blurted that as if I knew much about vector graphics though I am really a raster guy. Thus, I do not know!
