plus the laws of physics deny it[/quote]
The only laws that are true are the ones that you set as the creator of the world. I.e. it's allowed if you allow it. By the way in the japanese Fairy Tail manga there's a character that is capable of rewinding time of objects - in other words returning them to their previous state, so for example if something's broken it can be restored by that character, which allows this character to throw breakable things at opponents only to restore them and throw them again. Also in the Battle Librarians manga there's a character capable of freezing time in a certain area. Which reminds me: there's also a character that can summon swarms of insects from every hole, that devour their prey.
Generally I find the japanese manga quite inspirational when it comes to fantasy worlds and magic abilities.
Spells you´ve ever wanted to cast
First, I would not include aoe in that list because it is a property of a spell.
For example in D&D Fireball is an aeo spell.
Then, you seem to lack status effects and buffs.
As in poison, paralysis, etc.
And buffs/debuffs like raising/lowering attack/defense/agility/ etc.
Also, empowering your weapon with an element.
Then you could have a teleport spells (you or others). Not sure how to target, in Diablo it was pretty straight forward with the mouse.

I´ve now included
-some aoe spells
-single-target spells
-stun
-aoe heal
-slow
-stealth
-assasinate
-summon: illusion
-shields
-teleport
and a few more.
