I started Skyrim, and I like it so far. It's a bit better than Oblivion imho (and Oblivion was already pretty good).
The combat is quite hard (on Adept), especially those dragons. I guess I should do more side quests to level first.
The graphics are OK, though seeing as it's 5 years later than Oblivion, do not show a progress of 5 years of game graphics to me. I guess that is due to PC games being crippled due to consoles

The water looks amazing, way more amazing than anything else. The mountains also look good. Less good looking however are: repetitive grass texture patterns (at least randomize between two textures please?!), visible polygon corners in rounded shapes (do there exist solutions for that in the meantime?), low level of detail in the distance even though my graphics card would be able to handle it, low level of detail outside a city if you're inside one, moving pixely artifacts in high detail reflective objects that settle after a few seconds, and the shadows only look good if set to ultra (which is ok after all the ultra setting exists).
The RPG, and skill system, seem to be very deep. Though the NPCs sometimes are somewhat dumb with repeating quotes that don't always make sense at any given moment. I also wish bunches of human enemies would not just charge to their death if I'm stronger than them. A bandit wouldn't rob of someone who just kills them, right?
Companions are annoying. They walk longer paths than you instead of following your steps if you jump off rocks and stuff, and it's too easy to accidently team kill them (IMHO, despite the less realism, it should be impossible to hurt your own companion in battle to make up for the fact that their AI is also unrealistically unsmart).
And finally, I like fighting outdoors way more than in dungeons. The game looks beautiful outside. The dungeons aren't really good looking and even make me a bit nauseous unfortunately (solved by pressing f to place the camera behind the character). Too much of the gameplay takes place in dungeons.
