Can you explain this? http://www.youtube.c...h?v=oWb1CSWGt4c

Watch the video completely to the end. You will see what I mean.
Warning: Video contains violence and cruel scene. Watch it at your own risk.
Dislocation?

Looks pretty cruel BTW - you might want to put a disclaimer on your link for people offended by such things.

The legs were almost cut down and separated from the chicken. It's not just a simple dislocation. Further more, the knife thrust through the head of the chicken. Yet, after perform something, all wounds were magically healed. What kind of creature can heal that fast?
It's like the under-developed version of David Copperfield!

I agree that the legs were dislocated and re located at the end when the guy grabbed the chicken by the legs and pulled it around. The knife went only through the skin, it's common surgery knowledge that there are parts of the body you can cut trough causing almost no damage beyond skin/flesh perforation. I find genitalia piercing more intriguing than this.

The real magic happens in the mind of the observers who are willing to believe this is in fact magic and in how such belief is capable of changing their lives.

You mean, the people around him actually turn the imagination into reality? Or he did trick our mind with his trick? I don't think the man who performed with such crowd stood that close with only bare hands and half naked could really perform the magic trick like the famous magicians usually do.

Not that he needs to hide something up his sleeves. Anyone who has cleaned a chicken for cooking could learn how to dislocate a chicken's bone and then relocate it. Also any retard can do piercing without causing a hemorrhage (bleeding).

The people around him, as any average human, has an inner tendency to believe in the supernatural. So if there is no explanation they can come up with, the only explanation left is the supernatural.

When people choose to believe that tricks are magic, then that (the incorporation of magical thinking) is magic.

All magic is trickery, or science.

There.

I postulate that magical thinking can accomplish things that trickery nor science alone can. You could call it "inspiring faith".

What about the skin of the chicken legs? It was almost teared off. How come the skin around the legs can be naturally healed like nothing happened? Just like someone break your legs, you can't simply stand up and walk like normal after relocate. It takes time to heal completely, because legs have veins. Or maybe chicken is just different from human? They heal instantly?

Also, I don't see the knife just pierce through the skin. I see the knife pierce from the head to the middle of the throat of the chicken.
Well, that's magical thinking. You see what you want to see.

From my part I don't see any skin teared off excepting the one that was pierced by the knife. And if it was teared off, I fail to see at which point in the video you can notice it's healed since at no moment the camera zooms again on the legs to show they are "intact".

Leaving the magical discussion apart, where does this ritual take place? It looks like some tribe from the pacific islands but I'm not sure.
Also, do you have any idea what religion it belongs too, or what kind of supernatural being they are invoking?
