Hey,
I've programmed in the past and I somwhat enjoy it. However I'm looking into 3D modeling, and I have previous intemediate Art skills. I have purchased 3Ds Max 2009 a little bit back. I've toyed with it and what not. I created a 3d Star when i first launched the program. I know the interface and basic skillz I have been reading the 3Ds 2009 Bible. I plan to improve at it drastically. I seem to enjoy it more than programming I know it can be frusterating at times and I've got annoyed with it quite a bit. But I guess where i'm going with this is how hard is it to break into 3d modeling? I eventually plan to sell my work, and what advice can expirenced 3D artist give me, and how would you reccomend I improve my skills?
New to 3d Modeling looking 4 advice
for game art i would recommend this book its written by Andy Gahan who is the art director at evolution studios. he also has a forum here where you can go and ask him for advice during any chapter of the book and he will talk you through it (or another member will)
Just practice. And finish thing. Even if you don't enjoy it (for future work). Learn about edge flow.
Yeah I have been practicing.. and I'm enjoying myself I wanna create a 3d Nemo model for my girl when I improve a little bit more.. Thanks for the book reccomendation. I'm sure it will come in handy because there is almost 30 5 star reviews on it.. and thanks guys.. but i'm still open to more advice and ideas on how I can improve
Here is something i made real quicky following a tutorial.. it was very simple and it was fun even tho its very basic
Its very basic and not my design.. but it was very fun and simple.. i kno as I get more inoto complex models things can and probably will get frusterating.. but i think i will enjoy this more than programming
