I know there are detailed model packs for various furniture. They are sold as a pack (I don't recall company name).
Does a similar pack exist for passenger cars (old and new)?
When game companies develop a racing game, do they create car models from scratch or does Ford/Fiat/Honda etc. supply them a base model? Are there licensing issues?
I see some car models on Turbosquid. But they are of various quality and if I want the newest 2011 Camry or 1985 Datsun I probably can't find it.
Thanks
Car models
Well, I would be very surprised if car manufacturers would supply these models... And I'm positive, that not every car models in the world are modelled.
So if you don't find the one, then either you have to download a similar one and modify it, make it yourself, or ask/hire someone to make it for you.
I guess there's lots of stuff to reuse, but these models are made from scratch. And I think you can only reuse irrelevant or easy-to-make things only. Like the number-plate, steering-wheel or squeegee for example.
