Isometric Propotions, help needed

Greetings to all.

I have been lurking about this forum for quite some time now, and finally have come to need your advice and help with a game I’m working on at my free time.

In the game I’m going to have two sets of sprites, including full body character profiles. (Probably only the upper body will be visible, but for now drawing the entire body). The story telling and most of the game play is going to pass in a 2d environment like "Monkey Island 3 and 4" and the combat portion will be in 2d isometrics 2:1 scale

At this stage, the plan is to create the bases that will be used to create all of the sprites needed in the game.

I had no problem creating my basic 2d models, since the anatomic proportions are straight forward, however, it's with isometric proportions that I have run into some trouble and was hoping that someone can send me in the right direction.

Here is a quick sketch of a standing female (in nude) facing south for both environments.

nude outline sketch

I drew the image on the left using standard anatomy of a human body and as for the right image, I used some sprites I found on the internet as reference.

However, the image on the right just doesn't seem right to me (proportion wise), I have tried redrawing it several times using different sprites for proportion reference, and that is the best I was able to do so far.

So before I continue with the other 7 directions, I would like to receive your advice and perhaps some pointers on drawing human bodies in isometric prospective.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry about my english, and my drawing skills(first time doing computer graphics).
Just in case some may wonder, I’m not putting a cart before the horse, most of my in game systems have already been coded and I want to have the art ready before finishing the fine coding. In case I change my mind about the visual direction.
