where to find sounds for games?
i need some basic sounds such as walk , jump , etc, where do you get them from or how do you make them?
:)
Google for royalty free sound effects or use a microphone and audacity.
royalty free sound effects looks like you have to pay for the sound files
:)

Have you tried simply searching for "free sound effects"? I clicked into a few of the top results and found a range of files available for download. Remember to check the licencing conditions - some of them aren't free for commercial usage or are only free for specific purposes.
Hope that helps! [smile]

This is where I get my royality free sounds from.
Music is a lot more difficult to come by, unluckily.

I used to visit www.soundsnap.com for basic sounds, but they have some very restrictive new access policies, unfortunately. You can download a few for free, and I always found exactly wat I wanted.
Newgrounds is a great place to go to for music
www.newgrounds.com
Just click on the 'Audio Portal' and navigate to the genre of your choice.
Remember to contact the artist and ask for their permission to use their music (in return for credit/displaying a logo/displaying a web address/whatever) in a game. I imagine many will be eager for their music to be publicised in this way.

free sound has alot of back interference in the clips
:)
why not get someone to make them for you? there are plenty of new companies willing to work for reasonably cheap in order to gain game credits.
I have personally used soundrangers.com and soundsnap.com although you have to wade thru lots of subpar sounds. There are also lots of abstract sounds and 'stock sounds' so if you want something more unique you might need to look elsewhere. The quality is great once you narrow down a list of contributors who you like.
They are not free but you could probably get all the sounds for your game for less than $40.
