Blender - importing another mesh onto same armature

Hey, it's me again. With yet another question :P

So I've made an animation working pretty well on a female model. It's pretty long animation as it's basically a set of several smaller ones. My question is: can I import another mesh from Makehuman and replace the female with the new male one and then attach the new thing to the armature and have it work fine?

Thank you!
It will work by importing the mesh and reconnecting the armature to the new mesh (clear parent->make parent->bone heat skinning).

This will only work in a technically sense. If the male has the same figure it will work quite fine, but if your male mesh has an other figure (broader shoulders, smaller hips) you need most likely adjusting the skeleton to fit into the new mesh.

This will not destroy your animation, but you need to fix it. Best to make a copy of your female animation file, remove the femal mesh, import the male, adjust bones, skin it, fix animations.

Alright, thank you! Fixing is always much less work than redoing everything from the scratch :)
