Basically I'm wondering if anyone knows of some free software that has features to edit videos like the following, and is available for Windows? Are there any places I can learn about the techniques necessary? For when I do have enough money, what professional packages do industry people use?
I would like to dabble in advanced video editing. I have experience doing graphic design, but I have never tried to edit a moving image. For example I was recently watching this video, ">Over by Drake and I recognize a lot of things akin to graphic design applied to a video.
In the start, I notice it appears as though they put a 'mask' over his silhouette and then play a second movie with that mask applied. I'm pretty sure they are doing the projcetions on the room while shooting the video. But then I also see things such as duplications of him, synced to the music, that spread out from 1 to 5 of him when a certain bass hits. Last and finally I notice them playing two videos at once, one of him in the background rapping and the other of him dancing around with blurring animating from side to side.
I have found Avidemux, but that doesn't appear to be powerful enough, and Kdenlive seems to have some of the features I want, but it's only available for Linux.
