Mesh Animation in Blender

I am using the *.md2 file format for the game I am making.

For the animations, I have been getting the "model not centered at origin" error when I attempt to export the model using blender's md2 exporter.

I eventually figured out the problem (and a few others) here:

However, when I do this, the model does not move when I load it in a md2 loader (known to work, even came with a sample animation).

So I think the solution to this is animating the mesh. I tried selecting mesh for the keyframe (instead of locrotscale) but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated!
